Ingredients:
- 12 slices of sandwich bread
- 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
- 3 tbsp butter (softened)
- 2 tbsp milk or cream
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Spread butter lightly on one side of each bread slice.
- Place 6 slices butter-side down on the tray — this will be the base.
- In a bowl, mix cheese, milk, egg, salt, and pepper until creamy.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the bread slices on the tray.
- Top with the remaining slices (butter-side up), then sprinkle extra cheese on top for a golden crust.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread turns perfectly crisp and golden.
Serve warm — crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. Your family will beg for it again tomorrow! 😋
